Bristol & West Hockey Club resumed the fantastically successful Badgers’ Mixed Tournament on Sunday 3 July after a 2 year break due to - you know what! The summer event offers the opportunity for junior girls and boys under 15 to play competitive junior hockey and have a fun day out.
Hosted at the new home of Bristol & West Hockey Club in Mangotsfield, the competitors had the first chance to try out the newly installed goals and dugouts. Seven junior hockey teams competed under glorious sunshine and only the occasional shower (Danco Gazebos providing shelter from both). This year it was great to welcome a team all the way from Edgbaston as well as our great local friends Westbury, Cirencester, Bath Bucks and Firebrands.
During the day there were games, picnics and a fabulous BBQ on the adjacent field to make it a great family day out. Thank you to all volunteers from Bristol & West and to other clubs who supported on the day. Finally, well done to Westbury A winners and unbeaten runners up, Cirencester.
