Back to Training - What you need to know...

As you may have seen, England Hockey has now permitted us to undertake contact training again, moving to "Stage 4" of its plan. Sessions for some members of the Club have already recommenced, as the senior members start their pre-season training ahead of competitive seasons starting from the end of October (we hope).

We are working hard to allow junior training to also start again very soon, but we are still reliant on the pitches at Colston's School and Winterbourne Academy (The Ridings) reopening for us to use, safely. At present we are targeting running full training sessions again in the middle of September, but this will be dependent upon the schools we use giving us the go-ahead. Once we know more, you'll know more!

THE RETURN TO HOCKEY - IMPORTANT NOTICE

At the start of this season, England Hockey have set up a new Track & Trace system, by which we must keep records and report to them the attendees for each training session and match.

So this is what we need you to do, before you can come back to training:

1. Complete the England Hockey Participation Agreement (at least 24 hours) ahead of your first training session: EH Participation Agreement [Please ensure you select "Bristol & West HC" in Box 6.]

2. Complete the Club's Online Membership form ahead of the new season (link above or here) ahead of the first training session: https://www.bandwhc.org.uk/membership-registration

You will only need to do these once for the season.

For any member under 18, these will need to be completed by a parent/guardian.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE THESE AGREEMENTS IN ADVANCE, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TAKE PART IN TRAINING SESSIONS OR MATCHES.

WHY IS THIS NECESSARY?

This is a requirement set out by England Hockey, as well as being an important safety concern for all of our members. In the event of a member attending training and then showing symptoms we (and England Hockey) need to be able to contact all participants in a session very quickly to inform them.

If you attend a session and then notice any Covid-19 symptoms, or have a positive test, you MUST contact our appointed Covid Officer immediately (Dan Ott - CommunicationsBAWHC@outlook.com)

If you want more support or knowledge, please see England Hockey's Support page for more details.

FRIENDLIES

We have lined up a number of fixtures commencing in September and running through October ahead of the currently scheduled season to start at the end of October.

Thank you to Sarah Mattravers for organising and running these sessions throughout the summer, which will continue to run for now, but will stop once we start to lose the light on Hambrook Green.

TRAINING

We have commenced training sessions for part of the senior sections with us hoping to return to Colston's School for additional sessions very soon.

Keep an eye out on the Club's News Section, your emails and Social Media pages for regular updates on the any future training sessions and other updates.

If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch with us: CommunicationsBAWHC@outlook.com

JUNIOR TRAINING

An update has been posted today on the Club website with information regarding the restart of training, which we intend to commence on Monday 7 September (if all goes to plan). Please see a link to that article here.
