Women's 1s played Bristol Uni 2s and lost 6-0. No goals from open play, 5 from short corners and 1 penalty flick for a foot on the line! Despite the scoreline, we played great hockey with more attacking spells. We will keep coming back stronger as we get settled into playing together 💪🥰

Men's 2s needed to bounce back after last week's slip up! A much improved performance from the lads in a tight battle against the uni boys. We came back from 1-0 and 2-1 down with a couple of equalisers from Ollie J. It felt like we could have nicked it, but points shared in the end after a good game of hockey!

Ladies 2s played a strong game against Dursley. Both teams were on maximum points at the start of the day so this was a proper top-of-the-table showdown! The 2s are flying this year and proved their credentials coming out with a 2-1 win. 1st place and 3 points clear 😎.

Bristol UWE 2 [1-3] Bristol & West 3
Men’s 3’s had a great 3-1 win against UWE 2’s. Another all round team performance with the youngsters stepping up again, showing great composure against a well organised Uni team. We frustrated them well controlling the game and took our opportunities when it mattered.
Goals - Josh C, Alex x2
MOM - Patch for being generally everywhere on the pitch.
DOD - Jules for not getting out of bed in time to make the start of the game.

🧡 The ladies 3s absolutely smashed today with a 5-2 win against Bristol Bluebirds 1s! They’re one position down from us in the league so this game was super important to increase our advantage.
Goals: Molly x 2, Holly, Aymie & Morgan

POTM: Holly ✨
Highlights: Morgan came up from defence for the most beautiful straight strike goal in a short corner, and Evie’s totally innocent full body tackle.

Another excellent and dominant team performance maintained the 4s unbeaten run. Some new faces to the team played really well (Joe M, Mahesh, Toby B). Dan Lus is back and looks slim & fit and ran the opposition totally ragged. Nice for him to call in on us on his way back to form!

‘We may not have won but we certainly didn’t lose’ - Were words well said by our DofM Viv
Following on the same theme as the Mens 6’s, the result yesterday most certainly did not reflect the standard of play. Had we have been playing a similar level team, the result would have been a little different, but they apparently had a number of players from their first team playing a team entirely made up of our 4’s.
As a development team we never quite know what we will face, but we take these games as great opportunities to progress .
During our second half we stepped up the pace, were much stronger and played better too 💪💪.
📣Massive shout out to Chloe Tomkins, who following a night shift, and one game in goal stepped up and volunteered to drive from Wotton to Swindon to go into goal for us. Without her the goals conceded would have been considerably higher . You are a Legend Chloe 🏑!

7-2 loss to Thornbury
Again, the result does not reflect the standard of play from the team. One player on their team made all the difference. Thanks again to Ben Swanell for stepping in to goal, another good game for him. Early goal from Higgy from a short to put us one up. And a well taken goal from Charlie in the second half. Of particular note was the amount of effort from start to finish despite the the score.

EH Women's Over 35s Tier 1 Championships
Bristol & West Jaspers WO35 [0-3] Westberries Ladies O35
For the first time in the history of Bristol & West Jaspers, we entered a women's masters team into the national championships! A strong team of players from our 1s, 2s, 3s and 4s (and an appearance from returning club favourite: Swing!) showed up on Sunday to face off against a very talented Westberries team.
Pushing back with 10 players against the opposition's 14 - our ladies put in a brave performance. Strategically losing 3-0 on the day, our O35s will fall into the 2nd tier on the road to Leigh Valley!
