The 4th gameweek of the 2022-23 season proved a tough once for Bristol & West Hockey Club after a strong showing throughout the club in the early weeks.
Facing difficult opposition travelling from Cirencester to Bridgend, highlights included wins from the Men's 1s and 2s and a draw from the Women's 1s to keep 3 of our top teams unbeaten this season. Our Women's 3s went 0-2 in their home game, but after a brief delay for bad light, slotted home 4 without reply to post a 4-2 victory.

Annie Clay - Scored the equalising goal for B&WJ1s in their 1-1 draw with Cirencester - keeping the ladies undefeated and earning a Heroine bonus for it.
Daniel Lusmore - Another 4 goals and assist along with a hattrick bonus to help the M2s to a tight 5-6 victory over Bridgend. The lads also remain undefeated.
Tom Bryant scored the winning goal from a penalty corner and earning Hero Bonus for the M1s who also continue their unbeaten run - he did however pick up a Green Card.
Andrea Brown - Earned Defensive Bonus and MVP for B&WJ1s in their 1-1 encounter.
Daniel George - Another 2 assists from the back in the 2s 5-6 win.
Dan Ott 1 Goal + 1 Assist and MVP for the 2s against Bridgend. All after running a marathon the week before!

1s had a tough agricultural game today against Cirencester 1s and their dramatic injuries to slow the game down but we didn't let it get to us and levelled the score to 1-1 before the end 💪
We stay unbeaten with 3 wins and a draw and sit 2nd in Division 2 West.

Slightly crazy game where the 2s made it difficult but were always on top in a 5-6 victory away at Bridgend. 2s remain unbeaten and sit 2nd in Division 2 West.

2s had a tough game against a very strong UWE 1s, losing 0-2. Defence did an amazing job keeping them out of the D and attack had some great moments higher up the pitch!!
The whole team worked really hard and played very well!

1-2 loss vs top table Firebrands, who were well structured. Goal came from Charlie Williams; aerial from Patch in own half to Christian at 25, slipped it left to Dan V who then found Charlie.
Second half 0-0. Unlucky not to score, Kieran had a 1 on 1 with the keeper. Platty got defender bonus, with MoM James the new keeper pulling off some big saves in both half.

The 3s had a great game today against W.U.E 3s. It was a tough start to the match - we conceded to go 0-2 down, but got into the swing of things and ended the game with a 4-2 win! 🥳
