While the Women were getting the job done up in Westbury, our lads had a huge, season-defining home clash at Fortress Mangotsfield.
Our first team have been locked in battle for the entire season with University of Bristol 2, waiting to see who would blink first. A couple of losses for UoB and a few draws for Bristol & West, saw them heading into the gameweek on equal points with three to play. Players and spectators may have avoided speaking it out loud, but there was no escaping that the occasion was a "winner takes all" contest.
But having put in the hard work on the training ground and unbeaten in 19 games: our boys in orange were ready! Spurred on by a home crowd, in a feisty game with cards shown to both sides, Bristol & West came out on top. Goals from Tom Bryant, Harry Bryant, Charlie Williams, Dan George and a 3rd consecutive clean sheet for our defence saw us record a 4-0 victory.
With two games remaining, there is little doubt that UoB will continue to push us to the final week ... watch this space!!
