Gameweek Roundup 🎇 5th November

Updated: Nov 10, 2022

Gameweek 5 brought some great results for Bristol & West, posting 5 victories across the board. While the men's 1st XI posted a win against local rivals Old Bristolians, the Men's and Women's 3rd teams picked up victories 100 miles apart in Exeter and Newent respectively.

Unfortunately the men's 2s weekend was over before it started with Swansea (presumably too frightened of the prospect of facing the on-form boys in orange) cancelling on Friday night. A drizzly afternoon in Mangotsfield saw a notable first victory for our women's 4th team with proof that unleashed from their pads, keepers can do a job at the other end of the pitch.

Men's 1st Team

Old Bristolians [1-2] Bristol & West

Our men's 1s made the relatively short trip across Bristol to Failand to play Old Bristolians. In a tense game that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats - our 1s came out victorious, despite playing a decent portion of the game without their full allocation of players 😧!!

Men's 3rd Team

ECVH [3-8] Bristol & West 3

Making their second trip to Exeter this season, the 3s faced a tough test against a Exeter & Culm Vale Hornets team that sat at the top of the table going into the weekend. The three Badgers; Barnaby, Leo and Joe were all fantastic on their debut. You would not have known that was their first senior game. We have some great talent coming through the club again. 💪🏑
